Tado Smart Heating UX/UI

Client collaboration with tado°: app interface, user flow and service concept for an AI-assisted heating system — focused on transparent automation, manual control and everyday comfort.

Zawa° is a smart heating concept developed in response to a client brief from tado° within a university-industry design project. The brief asked for an innovative smart-home heating concept that could compete with leading connected-home systems and rethink how users interact with automated temperature control.
The concept was developed before generative AI became a mainstream product and design topic, but already explored questions that are highly relevant today: how intelligent home systems communicate automated decisions, how users stay in control and how comfort, transparency and energy efficiency can be balanced in an app experience.
The project was developed in a four-person student team. While the overall product and service concept was created collaboratively, my individual focus was the UX concept, app concept and user guidance. I designed the app logic, key user flows and interface screens, translating the idea of AI-assisted heating into a clear digital experience with transparent feedback and manual control.
